Harshit invites wrath of co-contestants

It is well known fact that reality shows have their own share of stress and tension. As the stakes are high one finds contestants resorting to every trick in trade to emerge victorious. In the on going battle at Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar it is alleged that Harshit is walking the extra mile to appease the judges on the show.
Harshit Saxena, the latest Challenger to have joined the Champion squad on Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar is not quite a favourite with his co-participants especially Vineet Singh and Rahul Vaidya. It is widely observed by the contestants that Harshit is full of pretense and makes an extra effort to impress the judges with his flattering comments such as ‘I am privileged to have a chance to sing in front of you,’ etc.
Harshit scored a perfect 30 consecutively in Friday and Saturday’s episodes and his phenomenal performance has left his co-participants anxious that he could turn out to be the underdog of the show and may land up stealing the jury’s praises and the audiences’ votes.
Vineet says, “It’s not just about Harshit but anybody who resorts to such antics. We hear people saying that they would give anything to work with the judges. so Don’t all of us desire to work with them?”
The other contestant, Rahul Vaidya however finds Harshit to be an introvert. He says, “Harshit is very talented but the only issue I have with him is that he is always very serious and keeps to himself.”

Shilpa Shetty shoots for ‘Dostana’ in Miami

Good news for all those fans who have been missing sexy Shilpa Shetty on the silver screen for quite sometime now. Finally, Shilpa has turned back to grace the desi screen too with her exotic presence. Recently, she shot for Dharma Productions’ ‘Dostana’ in Miami (U.S.). Shilpa is doing a special item number called ‘Shut up’ and ‘Bounce’ in the film.

But the officials of Shemaroo Entertainment deny the news saying that the film will go on the floors in May and will be shot in a single start-to-finish schedule. The movie will be shot in Mumbai and also on some international locations.

The female lead for ‘Kajraare’ from Pakistan

T-Series’s ‘Kajraare’, an intense Indo-Pak love story, directed by Pooja Bhatt with Himesh Reshammiya in the lead role, had been announced a while back but the female face was still missing from the chain. Now, finally the hunt is over, as the popular Pakistani TV actress, Monalaizza, has been chosen for the role.
“Monalaizza’s character is very intense and spans a lot of emotions. We had to look for an actress who would be Pakistani and yet had the persona to essay a character who remains herself though there is a lot in store for her in that journey that is called life through KAJRAARE…”, said Divya Kumar, the creative director of the film.
Director Pooja Bhatt is very happy with the choice and says, “It was Javed Shaikh who helped us find Monalaizza. And she suits the character very well. We checked out over 70 actresses before we finalized her.”
Monalaizza, not to mention, is beaming with joy, “It is a beautiful character and the emotions that I have to essay are immense. I feel privileged to be selected by Divya Kumar and Pooja Bhatt for this character.”
The film, a love story starring Himesh as a lawyer, would be shot in Lahore, Morocco and Europe.

Salman Khan avoids clashing with ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Bachchan

Since many celebs from bollywood often attend the same parties, they often end up running into each other. However some like Salman Khan go out of their way to make sure that he does not end up running into his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Salman either does not attend the same parties where Ash has been invited or if he cannot avoid it, he makes sure that he comes only after Ash has left the function.

Salman gets his people like his bodyguard Shera to co-ordinate with the person in charge of the function to find out who is on the guest list. Sallu also gets the guest list of any event he is invited to thoroughly scanned. Salman goes to great lengths it seems to avoid bumping into Ash and her new hubby Abhishek Bachchan. Recently Salman, Ash, Abhi and Amitabh were seen at the wedding reception of a common friend, but the Bachchans arrived earlier and only after they left did Salman and his brother Sohail come in through a side entrance. Salman had asked his bodyguard to stay in touch with the guest co-coordinator of the event. The Bachchans left at 10.50 pm and a little while later Sallu was seen attending the same reception.

Salman perhaps wants to avoid any controversy at all costs, especially now that Ash has become a part of the Bachchan family. Sallu does not want any awkward or embarrassing situation thrust upon him or the Bachchans.

According to sources, Salman will also play father to Hrithik Roshan in the film Mera Bharat Mahan. However Salman and Hrithik will not be seen together in the film. Salman has a small role in Mera Bharat Mahan and it also stars Preity Zinta and Amrita Arora. Samir has approached Hrithik to do an interesting role and the latter has agreed. However Samir Karnik claimed that he has not approached Hrithik for a role in Mera Bharat Mahan. But Hrithik's secretary said "Yes there are talks on between Samir and Hrithik. But it is too early to say anything." Well to see Salman play father to Hrithik will definitely be interesting.

Harry Potter star hunts for mystery Australian girl

Daniel Radcliffe, the actor behind the boy wizard Harry Potter, is hunting for a mystery Australian girl who cast a spell on him at a film awards party, Australian media reported on Monday.
Radcliffe, who started playing Potter in the popular Harry Potter movies when he was 11, has often spoken about not being able to find a girlfriend.
But Sydney's Daily Telegraph Newspaper said Radcliffe, 18, now wanted help to track down a woman he met briefly at a film event in Australia.
"She stared at me all night and I was going to get her number and then I couldn't find her," Radcliffe told the newspaper.
"I must have walked around that party for an hour trying to look for this girl, like some sad pathetic dweeb, but it would have been worth it."
The Daily Telegraph has started its own search for the mystery beauty, asking the young woman to contact the newspaper.

Abhishek Bachchan to play lead role of Bajirao Mastani

For the movie Bajirao Mastani’s lead role Salman Khan has been replaced by Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwrya Rai Bachchan has been selected for the female lead role replacing Kareena Kapoor. Bajirao Mastani will be one more history based movie of the couple after the movie Umrao Jaan.

Supermodel Shivani Kapoor, cousin of Kareena Kapoor, who is doing the prestigious Lakme ad campaign this year, has been chosen for the historic role of Mastani.
Aishwarya Rai was first choice for the role but she refused to work with Salman Khan who plays the Peshwa. Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor were also considered but turned down for various reasons. Now Shivani Kapoor will debut in Bollywood through this major film.
Shivani, who confirmed the news, has been busy with modeling assignments in London when she was approached for the role. She is now in India and in talks with Bhansali to finalise her role.
Others in the cast are Rani Mukherjee and the Rekha, who plays Mastani’s mother.The film will reopen a colourful chapter of Maharashtra’s history, which has been hidden in the pages of research books until now.

Shelving plans of making a bio-pic on the life of the Bollywood stunt queen 'Fearljourney.

After making a pain-lashed Shakespearean love story with Ajay Devgan and Kareena ess Nadia', Vishal Bhardwaj has now embarked on another more contemporary cinematic Kapoor, he has now moved on to Kareena's ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor and her arch- rival, Priyanka Chopra, for a full-on feel-good love story.

However, contrary to reports, Vishal's film is NOT a new version of Romeo & Juliet. "People would love to see me complete my Shakespearean trilogy after Macbeth (Maqbool) and Hamlet (Omkara). But I'm not doing Romeo & Juliet," says Vishal.

While Shahid is confirmed, Priyanka is currently shooting in Miami for Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana is still in talks. She is expected to give her nod when she returns to Mumbai in May.

For the boyish Shahid, the shortage of leading ladies after Kareena's departure acquires an interesting twist with co-stars as varied as Vidya Balan, Jiah Khan and now Priyanka Chopra coming up besides him in the next few months.

Aziz Mirza, the maker of romantic comedies like Yes Boss, Chalte Chalte is now working on his latest film Lucky Charm which stars the odd pair of Vidya Balan and Shahid Kapur.
Shahid says,”I loved the idea behind Aziz Uncle’s script. I’ve never played a character like this before. The romantic comedy is not a well-tapped genre in our cinema. Aziz Uncle knows that area well.”
Shahid was reluctant on revealing the plot of the film. All he could say was “It’s a very heart-warming subject. And Vidya and I fit into our roles quite perfectly in keeping with our personalities.”

The film will release on 11 july.

Will Saif-Kareena or Shahid-Vidya last longer?

It was a thing of the past when Kareena and Shahid were caught kissing when a paparozzo dude shot their video. However the kissing is now replaced by the tattoo love, seen on Saif's hands.
Kareena dumped Shahid, and much before the new love story caught people's attention, it made rockstar Saif etch this love story forever on his own left hand.

Bejan Daruwala, the famous astrologer has all the answers. "Saif is very handsome and he's conscious of his long nose,' says he. However, while most of us would think that Saif's dashing looks are likely to prompt Kareena to do something stupid while she is madly in love, the astrologer has a different story to tell. Amidst all these antics the one question for Mr Daruwala is whether this relationship will last?
"I don't know about this relationship lasting. But while it does, it will be a lot of fun." 2009 is the deciding factor and if they can get through, they will make it," says Bejan Daruwala.
While Saif and Kareena seem to be having a ball, Shahid seems to be drowned in gloom. However, it seems that love soon blew him over in the form of Vidya Balan.

Bollywood Calling for Harshit Saxena

Harshit Saxena, who lost out to Ishmeet in the Voice Of India finale, is all set to foray into Bollywood. That apart he will also be seen in the reality show Superstar and is working on his album. We had a chat with Harshit to find out more.

After VOI got over, Lalitji recorded a song with me as he had promised. It was for Mere Khawabon Main Jo Aaye for which he is composing music. It was a great opportunity and a nice experience as it was my first song. Moreover it was a really precious moment for me as I sang a duet with Alkaji who was one of the mentors of the show. Apart from this, Mukesh Bhatt has also signed me for the Raaz sequel which they are doing this year. I am going to get a chance to work with Pritamda as he is the composer of the film.”

“Superstar is a very interesting show and contestants from different reality shows are getting another opportunity to prove themselves. All of us have a different style and fan following so it is going to be a very tough competition. We are familiar with this atmosphere but as humans we are bound to make some mistakes. At the same time we will try hard make it difficult for our judges Vishal-Shekhar and Farah Khan and our fans.”

Aditya Chopra,s next 'Rab ne bana di Jodi' with SRK and new girl!

The wait is over. Eight years after he last directed a film, Aditya Chopra is back helming a Yash Raj Films production.
Even as his directorial debut “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” continues its record breaking run in its 13th year, Aditya is ready to direct his third film.
After directing his second film, “Mohabbatein”, back in 2000, Aditya had taken a conscious break from direction to set up and develop India’s first studio model making Yash Raj Films a name to reckon with. In the years that followed, YRF, under the keen eye of Aditya, produced such blockbusters as Dhoom, Dhoom:2, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Salaam Namaste, Fanaa and Chak De India. While Aditya was the creative producer in all these films, he also kept up with his creative juices by writing his father Yash Chopra’s directorial venture Veer-Zaara in 2004, as well as the stories of other films.
Aditya’s third directorial venture will be titled RAB NE BANA DI JODI, and will star the formidable Shahrukh Khan… indeed the jodi of Adi and SRK will once again be a treat for film audiences the world over.
Aditya will introduce a new girl opposite King Khan in RAB NE BANA DI JODI. The hunt for a new girl is currently in progress.
The film, to be produced by Yash Chopra, will be written and directed by Aditya Chopra. Shooting for the film will commence in May and RAB NE BANA DI JODI will release by the end of 2008.

Sajid Khan and Shekhar Suman end cold war

TV anchors, show hosts, arch competitors and co-actors, Sajid Khan and Shekhar Suman hadn't spoken to each other in years. They finally broke the ice last week on the sets of Sony's TV show Ustaadon Ke Ustaad. Shot over a period of six days, Sajid was the show"s anchor while Shekhar was one of the three judges along with Javed Akhtar and Saroj Khan.Says Sajid Khan, "Earlier, Shekhar Suman and I would be known as the Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna of the TV industry. We never went on any show together. He considered himself the No 1 host because of Movers and Shakers while I did the same because of my show on Zee.

There was an unspoken cold war between us. We would never speak at events. And if we bumped into each other, we would look through each other. There was a hidden rivalry and deep animosity between us."Sajid says the ice was broken last week. "I went up to him and said it was amazing the way he kept himself fresh and fit even at 6.30 am. That broke the ice. Shekhar said he loved Heyy Babyy and we became friends. Shekhar and I have spent four days cracking jokes and discussing body building. I am amazed how he maintains himself so well being in his mid-40s."Shekhar Suman adds, "People also created a lot of mischief between Sajid and me. We had pre-conceived notions of each other each thought the other was an arrogant, pretentious creep!"According to Shekhar, the cold war intensified because they were never at the right place at the right time. "We never interacted with each other.Sajid and I connected in a big way while doing the show together. When we broke the ice, it was like 'hey buddy, you're not like that at all as a matter of fact, you're worse!' Just kidding! It's so important to have a wicked sense of humour that both Sajid and I have. He has promised me that he will ensure that I get my due share in films and the right breaks as an actor. He wants me to do negative roles. This was destiny. A show became an occasion to get on with the larger things in life."

Rakhi Sawant back on Reality TV

Mumbai (ANI): Actress Rakhi Sawant will participate in dance-based reality show called 'Yeh Hai Jalwa' in Mumbai. Rakhi, who has the knack of remaining controversial, is sure about audiences voting in her favour."I'm happy that there are no judges in this reality show, because if there are judges in the show, a lot of buttering is required. Till date, I have not indulged in buttering. I've come forward on my own ability and hard work. I have given my best performance and scored full marks from the judges. This time also I'll impress the general public who will vote for me and make sure that they will give me full marks for my performance," said Rakhi.The show will be aired on an entertainment channel '9X'. Besides Rakhi, other eight participants are Prachi Desai, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Shweta Tiwari, Rozza Catalano, Sharad Malhotra, Ronit Roy, Rohit Roy and Sachin Pilgaonkar.

The show will have nine teams and popular faces on television will mentor each of them. Each team has six participants - one celebrity and five people from different walks of life including housewives, slum dwelling kids, professional dancers, white-collar executives and workers.Popular television actress Sakshi Tanwar and Smriti Irani will anchor the show and in order to grab the eyeballs, each episode will have a performance by a Bollywood celebrity. This show will be replacing Chhote Ustaad on the same time slot. It’s once again going to be a singing reality show where you’ll see the winners and runners- up of Indian Idol, Zee’s Sa Re Ga Ma and Star’s Voice of India. We caught Abhijeet Sawant who is returning to TV after winning Indian Idol to know more about this show.The show appears like the soon to be seen show Ustaadon Ke Ustaad on Sony? “Well, it’s not exactly similar as that show has singing, dancing, etc. This show is just revolving around singing. I don’t have any idea about the Sony show as I’m not part of it. My contract with the channel is over,” says Abhijeet.

The show will be judged by the famous music director duo Vishal and Shekhar and director Farah Khan. “It’s a good feeling to perform on such a big platform and in front of Vishal Shekhar and Farahji.
